Hiking in the Ripera in Panticosa
Now begins the heat felt like leaving home and spent the day walking from Aparthotel Peña Telera Resort we offer several tours, hiking, via ferrata … we have in the Valley this weekend to week The trails offer Ripera :
Level: Intermediate
Duration: In the region of 2 ½ hours
Description of the walk:
La Ripera is a somewhat hidden valley, not too far from Panticosa which connects it to the neighbouring valley of “Bujaruelo”.
This path starts at the ski resort. Between the first and second bridge immediately behind the cable car building you will find the beginning of a path. Shortly you will come to a fork in the path. The path on the left goes to Exena (see history) and is marked in white and yellow. Our path to La Ripera is on the right and marked in blue and white stripes. Carry along the path for a few minutes and you will come to a curious little bridge over the Bolatica River.
From there the path goes up into a steep zigzag on the hillside. You cross over a cow gate and come into an area of open fields from where you can see the Yenefrito Ravine in the distance. Later you pass by a shepherd refuge, keep going to the left on the forest path. Soon we will be at the same altitude as the bridge that goes over the Yenefrito Ravine, at the other side of the Ripera Valley.
The blue and white signs show the end of the excursion and the path back is the same going towards the left. If we continue the path to the however on the right we will go into the Ripera Valley. After 5 minutes walking we pass below another shepherds’ refuge and the on to another bridge. By the time we get to the next refuge it will have taken us 2 hours in total. Follow the path to the Rincón del Verde (green arena) which is at 1,700 metres.
